Mozzarella Stuffed Chilli-Tempura All The Way

Fried dough stuffed with anything is awesome.You can never go wrong with some tempura or chickpea wrapped on you early autumn veggies.It is the ultimate comfort food for a weekend at home.If you’re on a budget this is a under $5 snack that takes under 15 minutes to get ready.Perfect for the fall with the slight nip in the air.Enjoy it by the side of your favourite beverage and pamper urself to the fullest 🦁

Now gets go over the ingredients, there are two ways of doing this one is the Japanese styled tempura mix and one is a chickpea based batter.For tempura I suggest you use very cold soda , that’s the secret to the crunch and crispy exterior.For seasoning there is a slight variation between tempura and chickpea and I will go over that in just a minute.Quick reminder baking powder “puffs” and soda “spreads”.For the chickpea we will add just a pinch of baking powder for the light airy texture.

For Tempura 

  • All purpose flour-1 cup
  • Chilled soda -50ml
  • Salt-to taste
  • Cayenne -1/2 teaspoon 
  • Black Pepper-1/4 teaspoon 
  • Oregano-1/4 teaspoon 
  • Onion Powder-1/2 teaspoon 
  • Garlic Powder-1/2 teaspoon 

For Chickpea batter 

  • Chickpea Flour-1 cup
  • Water-3 tablespoon 
  • Carom Seeds-1/2 teaspoon
  • Salt-to taste
  • BlackPepper -1/4 teaspoon
  • Red Chilli-1/4 teaspoon
  • Cumin Powder-1/4 teaspoon
  • Baking Powder-1/8 teaspoon


  • Green Chili or Any veggies of your choice 
  • Ginger-1 inch piece 
  • Onion -1 
  • Mozzarella Cheese -50g


  1. Start by preparing the batter either tempura or chickpea by mixing the spices along with flour and  chilled soda (for tempura)or water (for chickpea)
  2. Slit your chilli and remove the seeds  or  just cut in chunks whatever vegetable you like to tempura 😈
  3. I coated the inside of the Chili with spices and stuffed tiny sticks of mozzarella in it.So once ready for the bite the mozzarella would ooze out of the chilli.
  4. Now dip the stuffed chilli or chunky veggies into the batter and deep fry on medium high heat for 6-7 min or until a golden crispy crust appears 

Serve hot with a sweet beverage.
