I am sharing my personal simple recipe for a Thai based meal for when you’re craving for one but are either feeling tired or lazy to step out.Fresh ginger and coriander add plenty of zing, as well as beautiful color to the dish.Speaking of weekend, it’s 10 am and I’m writing with a happy belly. For those planning to visit Thailand and surrounding places, here is what you need to know about Thai cuisine , it is a simple yet clever combination of Eastern and Western influences harmoniously combined into that je ne sais quoi.Thai cuisine is distinct from Chinese and Indian cuisines, both of which influenced Thai cooking. Thai cooking is completely identifiable in its own right, incorporating all 5 tastes: sweet, sour, bitter, salty, and spicy. Thai people have taken foreign influences and transformed them into a cuisine uniquely their own. Thai food varies depending upon the area or region of Thailand the dish originates from. Most of the herbs and spices used are of Indian origin.

For the history buffs out there:

Until 1939, the country we call Thailand was known as Siam. It was the only Southeast Asian country never colonized by the West. This helped Thailand to maintain its own special cuisine (cooking style). However, that cuisine had already been influenced by Thailand’s Asian neighbors.
